Dear Governor DeWine: I request the urgent creation of an Ohio Special Events Advisory Group, a task force to address the unique challenges of safely reopening controlled private gatherings for less than 300 persons. The wedding & events industry is worth over $60 BILLION nationally and affects nearly every facet of the economy. Private gatherings of this nature are impossible to categorize with any other type of commerce. For the health of the economy and the confidence of consumers, we require immediate clarity on current policy and experienced, community-minded leadership actively involved in future policy creation. The obstacles facing this group of small business owners requires first-hand experience in our field. We wish to partner with lawmakers and health officials to create a targeted plan for sustainable reopening. We are willing and able to comply with regulations. Please establish an Ohio Special Events Advisory Group immediately.
