Hello everyone,

As Patrick wrote on our website DoingSorry.com

In her book Until We Reckon, Danielle Sered defines "doing sorry" as "taking actions to repair harm to the degree possible, and guided when feasible by the people harmed." It means putting remorse for harm caused into constant life-giving practice.

Patrick's latest, most personal blog post depicts how he came face-to-face with the brother of the man whose life was lost at his hands. It's an real example of "doing sorry" and it's an example that redemption and restoration is possible in an establishment that only recognizes and seeks vengeance. Survivor-centered dialogues are very much missing from our justice system; these conversations are vital to true justice and redemption.

As always, thank you for all the love and support!

Please continue to share this petition. We are still working to get the attention of Governor Cuomo. A recent NY state Senate hearing regarding the covid-19 response in NY jails and prisons has exposed just how little the state of NY cares about the health of its incarcerated citizens. We are hopeful that after that hearing, positive changes will happen and that Commissioner Annucci and Governor Cuomi will show some accountability for the unacceptable conditions of their prisons and negligent behavior of their prison staff.

Patrick sends his love. Please keep him in your prayers. ❤
