The struggle to protect Mauna Kea and stop the building of the Thirty Meter Telescope is not over.  Tomorrow is lā (day) 300 of the current movement and lā 1870 of the longer movement.  Post your favorite photo of Mauna Kea Kia'i to commemorate and celebrate tomorrow on instagram and tag @protectmaunakea. 

Hawai'i's Governor Ige announced yesterday he will allow the reopening of astronomical observatories and support facilities this month on Mauna Kea.  Currently there are Kia'i still on Mauna Kea who are practicing social distancing and isolation but maintaining a presence and keeping a watchful eye on activities atop sacred Mauna Kea.
