Petition updatePlease Let Massachusetts Golf25k +

We hit 25k - clearly people think we can and should be able to golf. Realizing this has struck a nerve with some, this isn’t about entitlement and just golf, it’s about how many people are not following the social distancing rules and doing things that are more unsafe than we would be playing golf. And yes, it’s because we love it and it keeps us sane.

With that said, it’s also clear that #1 priority is everyone’s safety and health and that we get our towns/cities back up and running in many ways in the near future that we all desire.
It seems that our officials all believe we are in the peak of the “surge” of cases and hospitalizations currently and that the next week or two will hopefully show some signs of the curve coming down.
We may be able to better leverage this at that time as our governor starts to determine what’s safe and allowable, as we get certain things reopened and back to normal.

The support and attention on this has been remarkable via social media and the mention in the Herald - and many courses sharing it directly via their social accounts.
Mass has a very clear passion for golf and a clear desire to be out there, safely. And we all know we need some fresh air an hacks at this time more than ever.

I have shared this with many media outlets, golf blogs and podcasts, and various state leaders - unfortunately, I don’t believe we have anyone lobbying/supporting currently for golf until the curve goes down and we see better data showing that.

We will be out there soon - our courses will be plush and immaculate, and ready for those first few chunks. Hang in there...and keep sharing this to get the # up even higher so we are well positioned to leverage.
Thank you!
