I am requesting that you remove Sharon Munk from your Pet Animal Advisory Board. Ms. Munk is the owner of BJ's & Guys, LLC. This breeding business is listed among the worst of the worst puppy mills in the country. Having someone like Ms. Munk represent the Kansas breeding industry is an embarrassment to quality businesses that work hard to be compliant with the Kansas Pet Animal Act.

According to information obtained through open records requests, BJ's & Guys, LLC houses over 1,100 dogs in substandard housing with inadequate climate control. At the time of inspection, there were dogs in need of veterinary care. This facility has also received an official warning from the USDA.

Sharon Munk is unfit to serve on the Pet Animal Advisory Board and I ask that you remove her from the board and appoint someone who believes in better animal welfare standards.

Together with quality breeders and animal sheltering organizations, we can make Kansas a model state for the compassionate care and treatment of animals, but we need the right people in leadership positions.
