On 12/1/14, Marie Dolfi, NYSCCC Advocacy Chairperson presented at the NYSCCC Assembly committee for Children & Families hearing on preventive services. Her presentation focused on the need for statewide post adoption services to help move children out of foster care into permanent families and to provide services to families after adoption so children do not enter foster care after adoption. The information provided by the 9 organizations who presented at the hearing will be used by the Assembly to advocate for the most needed services when the NYS budget negotiations start after the first of the year. From now until when the Governor submits his budget to the legislators in early January we are asking you to call Governor Cuomo at 518-474-8390 (press option 3 to speak to a person, not a recording) and tell him how important post adoption services are to children and their families.
