"This afternoon I got a packet in the mail from my health insurance company (Cigna) letting me know that my premium will be increasing by $312.33 per mth (or 44.25%) in January. I have an HMO Silver Plan (individual policy). They are lowering the deductible to $2500 from $3000 but increasing the premium over $300 a mth. I was too upset to even take a look at how the coverage has changed. I am grateful beyond words that I am very healthy at almost 60 yrs old & will not come anywhere close to meeting my deductible this yr. I just read the post about the petition to Gov. Abbott. I can't believe that MD Anderson patients with individual policies have to fight this fight AGAIN this year! We have the arguably the best medical care in the world but people in Houston with individual policies can't access it. There's something terribly wrong with that picture!"
