Stop netting fish in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

The Issue

Netting in the Whiteshell Park is an ongoing issue that has greatly depleted the fish population in the park lakes, and has there fore also undoubtly affected many other species in the park. Nets are often left unattended for far too long resulting in drastic wastage. Hundreds of fish can be killed by a single net left for a single day, nevermind several nets left for days on end. Unattended or improperly marked nets are also a hazard to boaters and recreaters. Netting needs to be either eliminated or properly regulated and heavily enforced. Any one who has spent considerable time in the park has seen these effects and are urged to sign, support, and share this petition.
