Robert Roberts started this petition to Government of The Bahamas

By signing the petition below you not only agree to the caption but you are telling our Government that enough is enough!

Specifically, we want all foreign vessels deemed to be  “COMMERCIAL FISHING VESSELS” charged and convicted of poaching in our Exclusive economic zone confiscated and subsequently destroyed/sunk/re-purposed for recreational dive sites.

We cannot continue to do what we have always done and expect change.

We the undersigned want our elected officials, "The Government of The Bahamas" to take action.

We feel that this is the only recourse left as nothing we have done in the past has deterred foreign persons from poaching our waters.

Let's send a clear and concise message that the Bahamas will not stand idly by while our resources are being pillaged!

Under the United Nations Convention of the Sea The Bahamas is within its sovereign right to re-purpose confiscated vessels. Sinking vessels that have been proven and charged convicted of poaching within its EEZ. Once arrested vessels and their crews are convicted, the vessel convicted has the right to be taken and re appropriated as artificial reefs as “other security” as outlined in Article 73.2 of the UNCOS.
