Prevent Another Major Pipeline Leak In Saskatchewan

The Issue

The Husky Energy pipeline leak into the North Saskatchewan River was preventable.

Because of cuts made by the current government, Saskatchewan's regulators are extremely under-staffed.

There is no way they can do a proper job of enforcing safety and environmental regulations because they rely largely on self-reporting by companies.

We demand that the Government Of Saskatchewan dramatically increase staffing of regulatory agencies and conduct routine pipeline inspections that are independent of the companies involved.
