Petition updatePut The Question Of Jamaica Diaspora Voting To A Referendum
LETS FOCUS ON OUR HOMELAND IN LIGHT OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE POLITICAL LANDSCAPE IN US & UK

THE JAMAICA DIASPORA NATIONAL CONGRESS
Nov 9, 2016
The Book of Genesis describes how Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt after she looked back at Sodom. We should not look back anymore cause there is an island in the sun, where through our determination we can carry-on when the whole world lets us down. I know one such place; “O Island in the Sun” where there can be love for everyone.
So I am calling on all Jamaican Citizens in the Diaspora to lick your wounds and dry your tears because the time has come for us to unite for the betterment of our homeland. We must demand full voting rights through political leadership to effect change and build institutions capable of working with the Diaspora for real social and economic development. This fight is about saving paradise from government fire sale and exploitation of our natural resources.
We must continue to build our support to form an organizational structure for grass root changes. We are at a crossroads.
No government can claim legitimacy over good governance and the rules of law when the very fabric of society which serves to protect and maintain these fundamental principles are rapidly being eroded through their lack of leadership in the ever-increasing gap between the rich and the poor. We must balance economic growth with human development through sustainable development planning.
