Media Release Leads to MASSIVE Coverage!

We have over 1,000 signatures in no small part due to the Media Release issued by Change.org in support of our petition. Tons of radio interviews, web and print coverage are now happening across Canada! Now Stompin' Tom Connors' family and close friends are grieving their loss and none of us would want to disrupt that. Also, the funeral is scheduled for Wednesday which makes our original request less practical. So... I've made the following amendment to the original petition which I believe maintains the spirit of our desire to request a state-sponsored memorial. "In the event a State Funeral is not possible for logistical or privacy reasons, we request that his life be memorialized in a state-sponsored and nationally recognized manner by the commission and public display of a Stompin' Tom statue or plaque with all of the ceremony befitting his legacy."
