Dear Government Elected Official:

RE:      PETITION CALLING FOR AN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC INQUIRY IN RESPECT OF THE GOVERNMENTS RESPONSE TO COVID-19

I am a Canadian citizen.  I am a mother.  I am a lawyer.  I live in Calgary, Alberta.  I am very concerned about the various Governments’ response to COVID-19, namely, I became concerned that the lockdown response to COVID-19 was going to be worse than the morbidity of COVID-19.  Many people are losing their jobs/businesses, losing their homes, unable to pay rent or make ends meet.  Many have died from other conditions, unrelated to COVID-19, for fear of getting treatment (in most cases, the hospitals have refused treatment of other conditions to make space for COVID-19 patients, of which there were relatively few).  Many are afraid.  Many will die from suicide.  Many will suffer from domestic violence.  Many will starve.  People are now divided because the mainstream media and governments continue to perpetuate fear. 

The science and modelling initially done and relied upon by health professionals and governments’, informing you, was wrong.  Yet, despite new scientific information, our laws and policies continue to perpetuate a state of fear and limit our basic rights, itemized by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I am attaching the Petition I started, which over 240 people have signed to date.  It’s comprised of many voices from citizens across Canada.  Yes, many folks outside of Canada have also signed this petition but do not be deterred by this.  We are a global community and WE are ALL concerned.  Very concerned. The Petition contains many demands, the first of which requires an independent public inquiry to investigate the Governments’ response to COVID-19.

I’ve always believed that in a democracy, our elected government officials, answer to the citizens who elected them.  You are accountable to the people, the citizens of Canada who elected you.  What I believe to be occurring is opposite.  Why are you, as an elected representative, not addressing this information?  If you support the current government policies supporting the lockdown, wearing masks, contract tracing, possibly mandatory vaccinations, etc., my question to you is why?
