“Having anxiety and depression is like being scared and tired at the same time. It’s the fear of failure, but no urge to be productive. It’s wanting friends, but hate socializing. It’s wanting to be alone, but not wanting to be lonely. It’s feeling everything at once then feeling paralyzingly numb.” -Healthy Place

Depression is a huge problem that not only this society, but this whole universe has to deal with on a day to day basis. Whether it’s friends, family, schoolmates, etc. Depression is such a lonely illness and hard to talk about. It's hard to express how you feel to a doctor, or family member/friend. Almost everyone knows someone who deals with depression. In Depression, people lower their self-esteem and standards, making themselves believe that their not good enough. They look at others, wanting to be more like them, more like someone that they’re not. Like someone that god didn't create as them self. No human being should ever think that way. Everyone should be happy no matter what situation they get put through. A mental illness is very serious and needs to be treated as soon as possible, or the teens may go as low as cutting, anorexia, or even committing suicide. We shouldn't take for granted those who are suffering from depression or mentall illness becuase DEPRESSION IS NOT A JOKE, NEVER BEEN A JOKE!

I propose more information, leaflets, adverts to promote awareness and make people not feel so alone, get it recognised. More groups, advertise numbers to phone when your feeling at your absolute wits end, or encourage them to seek medical advice. It would be nice if someday it was more understood by both suffers and friends/family of the sufferer. It would also be an idea to give out questionnaires on your mental well being out to be filled in and returned to your doctor, it's so very hard to explain the exact feelings your having.
