In March of 2015, New Zealand officially banned animal testing within the country. However, this law does not prohibit cosmetics which have used animal testing, to be imported and sold in New Zealand. According to an article posted by the Oh Natural Team during May 2017, 90% of the cosmetic products sold in New Zealand are tested and made overseas. Because the current New Zealand policy doesn't prevent animal cruelty cosmetics from being imported and sold here, these products are still being purchased and supported in New Zealand. The current New Zealand policy also doesn’t restrict kiwi companies from being able to sell their products in China where animal testing is required for a product to be sold.
