Ghana's Environmental disaster - GAG offers Solution proposals

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, a team from Galamsey Action Group delivered our Solution Proposals to the Presidency (via EMS) and to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, several sister ministries, Parliament, several related organizations and the Ghana National House of Chiefs. 

The goal of the proposal is to help the Ghana Government and people of Ghana to focus attention on specific immediate, short, intermediate and long- term actions that must be undertaken to resolve the devastating consequences of galamsey and irresponsible mining in Ghana.
The proposal is the result of information gathering of the galamsey problem by members of the Galamsey Action Group; and research of the galamsey issue by our Solutions group comprising several Ghanaian professionals located in Ghana and abroad. 

It is our view that the solutions we have proffered, will be well received by the Minister and all those tasked with resolving this difficult problem of illegal and irresponsible mining, a phenomenon that, if not tackled decisively and soon, can lead to untold hardship to current and future generations of Ghanaians.
