In Ghana today, mining with or without license both leave devastating environmental and health consequences for the local communities. Due to lack of community engagement and proper supervision by Mining Commission and relevant bodies, both leave large gullies, devastation and highly toxic levels of mercury contamination in the communities. This can't continue. This must end today. We are also educating our communities to know the real risks and stand up for themselves.
