ACTION ALERT! PUBLIC COMMENT NEEDED! CDCr is again doing everything in its power to prevent people from being released!

PC 1170.01 (formerly PC 1170D1) is a path to resentencing meant to apply to everyone. But CDCr has added its own exclusions. The exclusions are: LWOP, DP, Tiers 2 & 3 of SOR, people who have served less than certain amounts of their sentence (depending on the resentencing mechanism, people with serious or violent rules violations in varying amounts of time, people with release dates or parole hearings within varying time frames, and people who have already had a parole hearing. More details in the toolkit (see below), but needless to say that's a whole lot of people. These exclusions have nothing to do with a person's suitability for release. This is just CDCr trying to keep the cages full and the taxpayer $$$ flowing.
