Require insurance companies to cover diagnosis/treatment infertility.

The Issue

Currently there are very few states that mandate fertility coverage on health insurance. Infertility is not a choice. It is a true medical condition and should be treated as one. For most trying to conceive couples IVF is the only treatment option available to them. This is a non-covered procedure on most policies. Average cost is 10,000, but can be as much as $25,000. A lot of insurance companies will cover infertility testing, however they do not cover the procedures to correct the problems?
Many people have either experienced infertility or know someone who is currently in hopes of having a baby. Please take the time to sign this petition and lets  get this passed so everyone has the same opportunites to fulfill their dreams of being parents.

Everyone has the inherent right to birth a child. While procedures and treatments for an infertile couple is mostly out of reach, for the insurance companies the costs are minimal compared to other medical procedures and treatments. Insurance companies have the means to help families see their dreams come to fruition. Furthermore, it is unethical for insurance companies to not provide the funding for the treatment the patient needs. Especially since the patient is paying a monthly premium for the services the insurance company isn't providing. Thank you for your signature. The few minutes you just spent completing the online form will help a families' dream come true.

Thousands of women suffer the heartache of not being able to conceive or not being able to carry a pregnancy. We pay for our insurance coverage and it should include any and all types of medical diagnosis, testing, and treatment. There are already other states that have made it mandatory for insurance companies to cover infertility diagnosis, testing, and treatments and Oklahoma needs to get on board!
