Ban Storm Chasing For Sport and Profit

Storm Chasers are a plague in this country.   Only the ones that actually work for the media should be allowed to chase storms.   Storm chasing has become a sport and profit gain ever since the show Storm Chasers aired.  This is leading people to believe they can be the next television star and/or make lots of money by storm chasing.

Very few storm chasers exist that uphold what a storm chaser in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s did.

Natural disasters are dangerous and when a major tornado outbreak hits, you have thousands of cars clogging the roads surrounding the storms.  We do not need 1000+ eyes on a storm and most of them do it for sport and profit.   Companies that buy their photos and videos should also be ashamed for taking part in this operations.  Storm chasers are a danger to the general public on the road.

When I went chasing in May 2010 to see tornado alley myself I was surprised at one thing.  The storm chasing wasn't that dangerous due to the storms ... it was dangerous because of the amount of people out there on the roads surrounding the storms.  I almost got into a wreck 20 times because of the other storm chasers.  They were speeding, weaving into lanes, and stopping in the middle of a highway or road.   They were a major danger to myself and the team I was with. 

Such activities should be banned because in the coming years I can tell you right now that 1000+ will turn into 10,000+ on those roads and when a major EF5 tornado comes down the roads they will all clog the roads so much they would not be able to escape.  There is a major safety issue to not only chasers but most importantly the general public, whom could be traveling down those same clogged roads.

Please ban storm chasing for sport and profit.  The only chasers that should be out there are verified scientific groups, government offices, and media due to reporting their visuals to get the warnings out.  No other chaser needs to be out there for sport and profit.
