Dear Supporters and Allies,

Chief Shirell received a letter from the Executive Director of the Office of Indian Affairs informing her that the Governor was too busy to meet with her.  Furthermore, the letter is a condescending explanation of the differences between the executive and legislative branches, without truly addressing the injustice and the need for real lines of communication.

We hope that you will continue to stand with Chief Shirell and continue to share and circulate this petition.  Indigenous people in Louisiana represent a large and important constituency and deserve a direct response from the Governor.
