• We are now past 13,000 supporters and gaining more every day. We have gotten support from Rob Thomas, Pam Grier. Kristen Johnston and Elayne Boosler through Twitter and their FB sites. We have also gotten our petition link shared on many rescue and anti-puppy mill FB sites, thanks to all of them. I would like to give a special shout out to some small businesses that are spreading our message. • Outer Barks, a wonderful pet store in the NC Outer Banks have raised more than $1000 to support our cause. If you find yourself visiting the Outer Banks, please stop by and take in their Yappy Hour. (http://www.outerbarks.com/) • FunAnimalPetServices Stacie and her wonderful Keeshond Clancy give dog trick shows and provide dog training. Stacie spreads the word of our cause at all her engagements and gathers petition signatures. Please check out her FB page https://www.facebook.com/FUNanimalPetServices • Keeshond Krafts is run by Terry and she makes Keeshond Stuffed Animals with all the profits going to help #freethekees. This is her FB page https://www.facebook.com/KeeshondKrafts We have gotten media coverage: 1. Canine Chronicle http://caninechronicle.com/current-articles/freedom-is-at-hand/ 2. Pet Radio http://www.blogtalkradio.com/petradioshow/2014/07/26/pet-radio-saving-the-keeshond-puppy-mill-dogs 3. Dog News http://issuu.com/dognews/docs/072514/103?e=1543084%2F8792306 There have been two inspections of Marjorie’s Kennels since we started this campaign, both of which she has failed. Our issue with the State of NY continues to be that although she has failed numerous inspections in the last 24 months, she still remains open. The inspections show concerns with the state of the kennels, broken concrete and rusted wire, they show the dogs are in satisfactory condition and are getting veterinary care. We know this is not true. The 60 dogs we rescued all suffered from some illnesses or injuries. Here is a link to the web site with all the inspection reports. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.agriculture.ny.gov%2Fpetdealer%2FPetDealerExtract_Rpt.asp%3Flicno%3D305%26corp%3DBroome%2B-%2BMarjories%2BKennel&h=YAQE2R3_P For me, one of the things that has been the most inspiring parts of this effort has been to watch the progress of the 60 dogs we were able to rescue. We can continue to share their stories and milestones on our FB page (www.facebook.com/freethekees). What can you do to help? 1. Continue you to share the petition with friends and family 2. Write letters: a. Governor Cuomo Fax: 518.474.1513 Email: gov.cuomo@chamber.state.ny.us 3. Tweet the petition with the #freethekees 4. Download one of the profile picture options for Free the Kees from our FB page www.facebook.com/freethekees Thanks again for being an important part of the Kees Army. We will not stop until Marjorie’s Kennel is closed for good. We must be the voice for the voiceless dogs trapped in this puppymill!!
