I am a diagnosed Anorexic, the illness which has the highest mortality rate in comparison to  ANY other psychiatric disorder in which one in five suffers will die. The extent of pro ana websites has and will continue to dramatically increase the rates of Anorexia which not only creates a distorted ideal and unhealthy body image, but puts more strain on the NHS as they are already struggling to cope with the amount of people who need inpatient care. These websites can be accessed by anyone, even those who are under the age of ten years old and adolescents. These are the crucial developmental life stages in an individuals decelopment in which they are extremely impressionable to the environment around them. With these websites promoting 80 calories diets, and emaciated body types, it is not doubt that it has had something to do with the increase of Anorexia. So please could you take 5 minutes of your time to sign this petition and help those who are struggling: to be denied access to these awful websites and help put the images behind them rather than believing they are normal, it is killing millions of people each year and devesyating their families. After nearly being hospitalised twice, collapsing and losing an awful amount of weight, it is clear that something has got to be done in order to prevent this from happeneing to so many other people as this illness can become debilitating rapidly and is only a matter of weeks before somebody can end up so seriously ill.
