Victory! Thank you Google, Inc.
Jul 14, 2015 — Our simple yet far from petty petition has been heard! Google dropped the Zhonsha designation in their map of Scarborough Shoal.
Now, whenever we view the Philippines in Google Maps, there will not be a thorn stabbing our hearts knowing why there has not been an action to correct such a mistake.
We should be aware though that thousands of simple Filipino fishermen are denied their traditional fishing ground costing them to loose earnings from their hard work. China's "research vessels" guard this shoal and have use water cannons and other terrorizing tactics to keep these simple fisher folks from their trade.
This shoal is important because high valued pellagic fishes come to rest in the warm waters of the shoal to digest their food. No other shoals exist in the Northwest Luzon area like this. Reef fishes also abound but, the last time I heard, the Chinese have raped the corals and marine life, just as they have raped the pristine waters of Spratly Islands with their dredging machines and building their artificial Islands where Chinese ecological rapers would be able to huddle and trade endangered land and sea species.
