While things are cooking up for Google, due to the current clampdown on normalcy everywhere, we have moved our release date to coincide with the Ottawa Comic Con.
In a recent interview with the Voice of America, Google stated the constraints in bringing Indigenous languages onto the translation apps.
Yet it did not respond to the continuous oppression of native people by tech companies.
Voice of America also identified the feather caped protagonist as Indigenous, smart, educated, and the founder of a highly successful snowmobile company who also is a comic book superhero from a First Nation in Canada. A community Google continues to ignore.
"The aim here is to help Canadians understand Indigenous culture and to erase the stereotypes about First Nations communities," said Joseph John, the Montreal-based designer and publisher of the Citizen Canada comic book series.
Citizen Canada : Prelude will be
officially unveiled at Ottawa Comic Con this year.
This is an opportunity to relive for yourself the nature of Bill Waawaate, the Indigenous entrepreneur, his origin, outlook and goals.
Most importantly, the Prelude will demonstrate an alternative
method of communication called STORIeDD. A method is woven into the narrative of this sick piece of work.
