Anything you donate to Change.org goes to Change.org... it does NOT go to us or the purpose of this campaign. Allow me to explain...

A statue cannot be erected without Council approval and before they say "It's not what the people want", we need to go to them proving it IS what the people want... before they've thought about objecting. This is also why it is important to register your GOLD COAST (not just Australia but GOLD COAST) location as they're only interested in the voices of locals.

So the PURPOSE of this petition is to show support for the concept, which is NOT to commemorate Luke the swan who so valiantly gave his life protecting his first born from a savage and ILLEGAL......... ***ILLEGAL*** off leash dog attack, but rather the PURPOSE of the statue is to stand as a warning to any other irresponsible and/or thoughtless dog owners who would allow their dogs ILLEGALLY off leash around our precious wildlife that there are consequences... to their hip pocket, because this is ILLEGAL!

Gee, that's a load off :-)

Make no mistake, we absolutely will be asking you each to chip in (hopefully $50 each as that will cover it... and financial contributions can be accepted from anywhere in the world) to pay for the cost of the statue, because it's faintly possible that the Council's next objection might be that they can't afford it... so when we go to them it needs to be with (a) the people do want it and (b) the people are paying for it, so we're just going to go ahead and do it... that's okay with you? Kinda thing (I'm paraphrasing to make a point so please excuse the somewhat bullish tone).

Once we have sufficient signatures on the petition and permission then we will start a separate GO FUND ME page and beseech you all to dig deep but we're not there yet.
