Donald Trump's threat to cut off US military and logistical aid to Ukraine unless the Zelenskyy government agrees to the humiliating surrender represented by his and the Kremlin's "peace plan" can be defeated--if the Ukrainian people see that they have the support and solidarity of Europe: of its states but, above all, of its peoples.

The European Network for Solidarity with Ukraine (ENSU) will work to achieve the greatest possible popular pressure on the leaders of the European Union to reject the Putin-Trump deal of thugs, and supply Ukraine with all it needs to achieve a just peace.

Public opinion here needs to be mobilised for Ukraine along the lines of the US initiative "Appeasement in Not Peace". Its model letter to be sent to elected representatives reads:

"I am horrified by the 28-point appeasement peace plan President Trump is demanding Ukraine accepts. Threatening to cut off aid and intel if Ukraine refuses sickens those of us who stand for justice and freedom.

"Surrendering Donbas would reward Russia at the negotiating table for what it failed to achieve on the battlefield. Limiting Ukrainian forces to 600,000 would ensure that Ukraine is both permanently threatened by Russia and reliant on its allies. Limiting reparations to $100 billion, while returning the remainder of Russia’s frozen assets, despite the costs of damages being over a trillion, would saddle Ukrainians and the West with paying for Russia’s invasion.

"This is not a peace agreement, it’s surrender, appeasement, and betrayal, would shatter the very architecture of world security, and set the stage for more war."

ENSU will move to help build a coalition for ongoing and increased European support to Ukraine. In the meantime,
