It's been twenty four years and Kermit has continued to exemplify consistent rehabilitative treatment goals though he is not eligible for parole or any increased earned sentence credits awarded to nonviolent felons.

Kermit has strived to address those areas in which he believes led him to where he is today. Though Kermit felt that his family's lives were in danger and he believed he was trying to protect them. He understands that despite those fears, the person he fatally shot had a right to life. He has continued to express genuine remorse and regret for the pain he caused to the family and the disappointment he faced from his loved ones.

In all his efforts to show he has been rehabilitated and deserving of an opportunity to return to his community, he continues to ask for support from the community to request the Governor to grant his pardon petition.
