We are preparing to introduce guided walks from Water Row in Govan to the graving docks to tell some of the story of the post-industrial riverside, Govan’s historic graving docks and the campaign to save them. The walks will typically take around an hour. We are currently seeking feedback to get an idea of the level of interest in the guided walks. We led these walks for Glasgow Doors Open Days in 2015 and they were very well received. Initially these walks will be free of charge and booked for up to 15 people at a time. Our aim is to make them affordable even to people who are on low incomes or out of work, though donations/gratuities to support the walks and the work of CDPI will be much appreciated. We hope to be able to keep the walks permanently free of charge. A portion of funds raised from the walks will be used to support the work of the Govan Docks Regeneration Trust in developing community conversations and proposals for the future of the Govan Graving Docks. If you are interested in taking part in or supporting the guided walks please complete our short survey form at http://bit.ly/2qH8FdU
