Folks -- Because of inactivity and frankly, not a lot of action or movement with this petition, I will be closing it down. As far as I know, there haven't been any new updates from Ringling Bros. on the state of their elephants. I can only assume that the new work building around the TEAPA law to prohibit all animals from being abused in performance shows will be the final governmental support that we need. My encouragement is this: don't pay to go to circuses, educate family, friends, and strangers on the importance of this, and never ever pay to ride an elephant or any other animal for that matter. It has taken years to get Ringling to retire their elephants, and while we still have a ways to go, I am confident that we'll get there one day. In the meantime, please be a conservationist for the many wonderful sanctuaries throughout the United States: PAWS and Tennessee Sanctuary. I also encourage you to check out the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. They do amazing work. Most importantly, thank you for all of this. Your support has been incredible.
