Last week Ofgem posted the statutory consultation for the proposed Debt Relief Scheme. I've written an article above that gives you all the information you need, including eligibilty criteria, next steps and expected timelines. 

In the interim, you can always save money on your energy bill by running a price comparison and switching to a cheaper tariff. Uswitch have some decent tariffs available at the moment, saving up to £200 a year for high usage households. Give it a look and see if you can't switch your supplier and save some money.
