UPDATE: New Transformers Film Set in the Modern Day — Continuity Still Needs Clarity

Another important detail about the next live-action Transformers movie has emerged.
Jason Fuchs’ screenplay is officially reported to take place in the modern day, moving beyond the 1987 setting of Bumblebee and the 1994 setting of Rise of the Beasts.
Earlier reporting also described Fuchs’ movie as continuing the story after Rise of the Beasts. However, Paramount has still not clearly explained exactly how the new film fits into the existing live-action continuity.
That makes one of this petition’s main requests even more important:
The studio should clearly establish the continuity before moving forward.
If the new movie continues the Bumblebee/Rise of the Beasts storyline into the modern day, explain how the Autobots, Cybertron, Decepticons, Unicron, and established characters developed during that time.
If Paramount is choosing a different continuity, clearly communicate that instead.
Either approach can work.
What we all need is clarity, consistency, and character development from one movie to the next.
Please continue signing and sharing the petition if you want a more coherent and character-driven future for live-action Transformers.
