I just can't believe it. My friend Shona now faces a maximum of 30 years in prison after the state of Kansas charged her with five felony counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, manufacturing THC, an oil extracted from marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of child endangerment. Shona isn't some drug kingpin -- she's a medical marijuana patient who needs it to live her life and be the best mother she can be. Now the state is officially trying to throw her in prison and take away her son.
