Thank you to everyone who has signed and supported this petition.
We are now nearing the 500 signatory mark which is what is needed to bring a Special General Meeting and demand a vote on the takeover of Virgin Money.
PLEASE READ AND SEND NATIONWIDE AN EMAIL USING THE TEMPLATE BELOW.
Under the Nationwide membership rules, we each need to submit our names, addresses and account number to Nationwide to call a Special General Meeting of the society.
We may also need to make a refundable deposit of £50 per member. However, it is not clear how this can be done, and whether one member or a number of members (myself and some others!) can put up the deposit on behalf of all signatories.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT.
The court date to progress the proposed takeover is set for 19th April. Therefore it is critical we act NOW requesting a meeting and a vote to delay this process.
Please copy and paste the below email template, fill in your name, address and account number, and send it to Nationwide using the email address: Society.Secretary@Nationwide.co.uk
Please also send me an email to my address mikael@lexgreen.com to let me know that you have sent an email as described below to the Society Secretary, so I can log how many people have sent an email. Depending on what Nationwide insist upon, we may need to send paper letters too. I shall let you know if this becomes a requirement via email.
Thank you for once again for your support.
Kind regards,
Mikael
