We are wondering why it is ok to run a train under full capacity, when there are locals who would like to use it, including all the other reasons it would make sense. Too much traffic endangering lives on the range. The bridge which is faulty and in need of repair or possible replacement. The question has been asked - if the train is good enough for tourists to use, why cant locals access it at local prices? Why is the QLD state government ignoring these issues?
And WHY is a train allowed to run empty? If running speeds are monitored, why isn’t the carbon footprint an issue when Kuranda businesses are suffering? Wouldn’t it make sense to have full trains, regularly? Tourists and locals?
Why wont QLD TMR listen, this region needs a train again, and the infrastructure is there……..
Get people OFF the roads and give North Queensland locals the opportunity to take pride and enjoy their region by accessing services that only tourists are using.
