We, the undersigned, call upon Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council to consider local personality Elis Eyebrows as a candidate to officially switch on Merthyr Tydfil’s Christmas lights this year.

Elis Eyebrows has had an extraordinary year and has become an increasingly recognisable figure within Merthyr Tydfil.

His achievements include having his likeness featured on Merthyr money, being commemorated with a mural in Merthyr’s Alleyway of Fame, releasing his successful fitness DVD, and launching his own action figure franchise.

We believe the annual Christmas lights switch-on is an opportunity to celebrate people who have captured the imagination of the local community and contributed to Merthyr's unique character.

A growing number of residents believe that Elis would be an entertaining and fitting choice for this year's ceremony, providing a memorable celebration for local families and visitors.

We therefore respectfully ask Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council to consider Elis Eyebrows when selecting the person or persons responsible for switching on the town's Christmas lights.

Let the eyebrows light up Merthyr this Christmas!
