We did it. We hit 1 million signatures. 

It’s a confusing moment in our history. We are all so connected and have a feeling of unification, yet we are struggling. We are afraid. The government has not done enough to support us through this crisis. And our health, our homes, our businesses and our families' lives depend on that support. 

Thank you to each and every one of you for helping us send this message to our leaders. I’m so proud to be standing with you, speaking up for what we need. 

Here’s what’s next: We’re collecting every signature, petition comment and video you’ve submitted to send to Senator McConnell and Senator Schumer, both via email and through the mail to their district offices. (Congress now plans to go back to work on May 4.) 

If you haven’t had a chance to submit a video yet, we’d love to include your voice. Here’s what to do: 

• Video should be no more than 30 seconds.
• If you use your phone, make sure you record horizontally.
• Start with this: “I am one of 1 MILLION PEOPLE who’ve signed the Change.org petition asking for monthly payments of $2000 from the government. This help can’t wait because…”
• You don't have to say your name/location. We won't share that info.

Send your video as soon as possible to this email: moneyforthepeople2020@gmail.com. We’ll share these videos widely – on social media and with Senator McConnell, Senator Schumer and other congressional leaders.
