Atrazine is the second most commonly used pesticide in the United States that has been linked to a plethora of harmful effects on the environment, animals, especially amphibians, all sorts of vertebrates and people. As of early June of 2016 the EPA has begun a risk assessment to determine whether the potential harm of atrazine use outweighs the economic revenues for farmers and agriculture. In 2003 the European Union banned atrazine as a result of groundwater contamination, help the United States take a step in the right direction and let Chief of the EPA Gina McCarthy know that you would like a transition away from atrazine and towards more sustainable pest solutions.
