YouTube made a tweet, stating that the public dislike counter will now be disabled on EVERY VIDEO. They stated:

To reduce targeted dislike attacks & their impact on creators (esp on smaller creators), you’ll no longer see a public dislike *count* on YouTube starting today (the dislike button is staying).

This comes after lots of research, testing & consideration.

This is a horrible move on youtube's part. Targetted dislike attacks can simply be mitigated by a creator choosing to disable the dislike counter entirely, and the benefits of doing disabling the dislike counter for every video outweigh the negatives significantly. Now, you can't know if a tutorial video is going to be helpful. Now, you can't know if a video will be clickbait before you watch it. Now, YouTubers who try to advertise in comment sections will thrive. This is a horrible move, and I as a YouTuber, believe this will make YouTube a worse place, and cause more issues than it already has.
