Thank you for joining our campaign as we work to change the lives of generations to come by getting mental health education on the school curriculum. One week in and the response to this campaign has been incredible. With thousands signing and hundreds of you sharing the campaign across the internet, we are really getting people talking!
We also have our first politician backing the campaign, Hywel Williams MP of Plaid Cymru who is also a former mental health social worker. Hywel says about our campaign:
"We know that we can help young people most effectively and they will have the best health outcomes if they receive the right care at the earliest possible age. Providing the right support in schools is vital to achieve this [...] I’m encouraged that campaigns such as Mental Podcast are reaching out to young people in a way they’ll find accessible and I look forward to working alongside them to get the message across that it’s ok to talk openly about mental health."
But this is just the start! We are working to get more political and charity partner support so we can bring this cause right to the forefront of the government's agenda. We are also keen to hear from people with insight into how mental health education can best be delivered.
This week on our podcast we interviewed Grace Barrett, who co-runs The Self-Esteem Team. They deliver classes on self esteem, body confidence and mental health in schools across the UK. To hear her brilliant insight, listen via the links on our website mentalpodcast.co.uk
Thank you for the support and keep sharing, it really makes such a difference.
Thank you, Bobby Temps & Annie Harris
