May 24, 2017 marks 26 years since Gene Clark passed away. While one can only imagine the wealth of songs, unwritten and unheard that would have been had he had stayed with us, it is incredible to see how his music has continued to influence, inspire and touch so many since he left. My personal hope is that he will be formally recognized for the incredible body of work he made and remembered by future generations to come. Orpheus with his lute made trees, And the mountain tops that freeze, Bow themselves, when he did sing: To his music plants and flowers Ever sprung; as sun and showers There had made a lasting spring. Every thing that heard him play, Even the billows of the sea, Hung their heads and then lay by. In sweet music is such art, Killing care and grief of heart Fall asleep, or hearing, die. – William Shakespeare
