As the fellow emos of yesterday and today, the music of My Chemical Romance has gotten us through the roughest of times, and the best of times. Vans Warped Tour was always our escape, since no matter how hard the world beat us down in the autumn, spring, and winter months, we had that one day in summer to look forward to, where we would be ourselves without judgement, surrounded by those with similar stories, and come together to hear and meet the same bands that not only connected us, but comforted us when nobody else was there to do so. As Vans Warped Tour comes to a close, we find that nothing could possibly be more fitting than to have the most well known emo band wish “So long, and goodnight,” to the very tour has been known as a staple of emo culture for years.
