Mar 15, 2016
Yesterday the senate bill (SB 346) that would exempt all state-funded transportation projects that cost less than $100 million from adhering to GEPA was approved by the House Transportation Committee by substitution. The substitute bill, while still exempting road projects from GEPA, specifically calls out the need to consider environmental evaluation for historical sites and cultural resources as part of the government's decision-making process. Read the Substitute Bill, LC 39 1409ERS with the link provided. The bill may come up for a house vote as soon as today. If it passes, then it moves back to the Senate for another vote.
