- October 4, 2019: The Marietta Daily Journal: Work to Begin Connecting Silver Comet with BeltLine
- 2020: The Railroad track and ties were removed from the Silver Comet trail alignment.
- PATH Foundation design progressed with the rail-trail section to begin construction in 2021
- February 2023: The Silver Comet Rail Trail is tied up in legal limbo and awaits right of way conveyance from CSX to the State of Georgia.
