Currently Georgia Ad Valorem tax legislation only applies to new vehicles purchased on 1/1/2012 or later.  I believe the ad valorem legislation should be amended to include vehicles 2000 or newer.

If you support this petition it could change current Ad Valorem legislation and potentially eliminate the ad valorem tax you owe annually for tag renewal for existing car owners.  If you have a 2000 or newer vehicle your annual fee for tag renewal would be the tag fee which is much lower than the ad valorem tax.
