In October 2015, a statue of Einstein was installed on campus here at Georgia Tech. This statue was met with backlash, and was clearly not popular with the student body. Some months later, on May 28th, 2016, the gorilla Harambe was unjustly shot in the Cincinnati Zoo. This event shocked the world, and now, months later, the world is still in grief over this tragic event. The student body can much more easily identify with the great, magnificent hero that was Harambe than they can a scientist from the 20th century, regardless of how prolific he was. Please consider this petition, that would replace the statue of Einstein to one of the late and great Harambe, taken from us too early.
