This is important because a close friend was assaulted in a bar on George Street by a bartender.
After approaching the RNC and opening an investigation, the case had to be closed due to insufficient evidence. Why? Because the bar in question did not have any surveillance cameras to catch the perp in the act (following a patron into the bathroom).

We all hear of the incidents that unfold in local bars, whether it be through word of mouth, private whispers or public posts.

What can bar owners do to help create a safer environment? They can install surveillance cameras, helping victims, survivors and investigating law enforcement find solid evidence to support the victim's statement.

Without surveillance footage, accusations of harm turn into a 'he said, she said' type of situation, with perps often getting off with their crimes.
This needs to change.

And it can be changed, with the simple installation of video cameras.
