Let’s get this straight, a team that “building for the future” is going to bench KK, one of the best players from last years playoffs, for washed up Eric Staal; bench Romanov, one of our best young defenseman who can lay the body and has been solid all year for MERRIL?; and Cauffield, who since being called up has been a stud, scoring big goals and playing very well along side Suzuki for Corey Perry??? This is why we’ve been a mediocre team for years. We don’t need “veteran grit” we need to let our core play. This is not entirely on Ducharme, who has been terrible, but on Bergevin for forcing his hand and guaranteeing ice time to washed up veterans. ITS NOT 2010 ANYMORE!!
