Ban elephant rides in Thailand

The Issue

Elephant riding is a cruel tourist attraction that leaves elephants in unsatisfactory conditions, occurring in places like India, Cambodia, and Thailand. These conditions include being beaten with sharp poles called bull hooks, chained and left in the sun, and getting eventually infected blisters from the uncomfortable chairs they wear when giving rides. 80% of elephants in tourism are treated cruelly, and with the exponentially decreasing elephant population, something needs to be done. Help ban elephant rides in Thailand by signing this petition addressed to General Surasak Karnjanarat, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
