No dental assistance during DENTAL hygiene appointments. It is against health and safety for both, patients and clinician-dental hygienist.
Solution
General Dental Council needs to change Standards for the dental team, which will state that dental hygienist must work with another appropriately trained member of the dental team at all times when treating patients in a dental setting.
Current standards state that 'You should work with another appropriately trained member of the dental team at all times when treating patients in a dental setting.

I'm a Dental Hygienist and I'm starting the petition because of the safety of the patients and myself as a clinician.
